Applicants from other Nordic countries.

Applicants, who can document that they are authorized as psychologists in one of the other Nordic countries, Finland, Iceland, Norway or Sweden, can be authorized in Denmark by sending an application form accompanied by documentation for their citizenship, their university education, and their authorization.

This is in accordance with rules laid down in the Nordic agreement on common Nordic fields of employment for persons in health and veterinarian services

Applicants from other than the Nordic countries.

The Supervisory Board of Psychological Practice (Psykolognaevnet) is the competent authority in Denmark for psychologists, and the Psykolognaevnet therefore evaluates professional qualifications obtained outside Denmark.

Application for the recognition of professional qualifications is to be sent to The Psykolognaevnet, at the address shown at the bottom of this page.

Application forms can be ordered from the Psykolognaevnet, by writing to the
e-mail address shown on this page, or by calling the Psykolognaevnet at the telephone number shown.

The application for recognition of professional qualifications should be accompanied by

      -         detailed documentation for the applicant’s academic education,
-
documentation for the applicant’s citizenship,
-
information as to the academic title that the applicant, through his or her
education, is allowed to use in his or her home country,

-
documents stating that the applicant has the qualifications which are
necessary to practice psychology in the country in which he or she was
      educated,

-
and documentation for any work done in the psychological area.

The Psykolognaevnet's treatment of the application can, if necessary, include an enquiry to the Board of International Education regarding the content of the education in question, as compared with the Danish education in psychology.

Authorization.

When the applicant’s education as a psychologist has been recognized by the Supervisory Board, the psychologist may apply for authorization on the same conditions as applicants who have received their education in Denmark.

Application for authorization requires documentation for work done as a psycho-logist and for supervision received in connection with this work. An application form must be submitted.

Documentation for authorization as a psychologist, received in another EEC/-EFTA-country, can be converted to authorization as a psychologist in Denmark, when the proper documentation is presented to the Supervisory Board.

For further information please see the section  :
Authorization.
